Are you having a rough time achieving what you want? Do you want to improve your gameplay, hobbies, career, or you just want to be a better version of yourself? Would you believe me if I told you that meditation is the only catalyst you need to achieve your goals? Meditation trains us to develop our thoughts, emotions, awareness of sensation, and surroundings. It can also help you reach your optimal performance state — also known as the flow state.

Did you know that we can modify our minds to improve our cognitive processing — In particularly our attention and vigilance abilities?

As claimed by Fadel Zeidan Ph.D., there’s strong evidence that we can modify our minds to improve our cognitive processing — most especially to sustain our attention and vigilance abilities. Based on his study, in just 4 days of meditation training, the profound improvements found were astonishing. It concludes that our minds can be adjustable and can highly be influenced.

Neuroplasticity is the term for this adjustable phenomenon. Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to modify itself through reorganization and growth: basically in response to learning and experiences.

THE 10 MEDITATION MOLECULES

Consistent meditations produced more good neurotransmitters and hormones that are really useful for your body. Let’s discuss some little details about these molecules and how it impacts your body.

ANANDAMIDE

The “Joy Chemical” or “Bliss Molecule”

Did you know that the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana is THC (tetra-hydro-cannabinol)? This interesting receptor was found in the brain in the late 1980’s. So this is no surprise that whenever Anandamide is released and binds to the THC receptor, we experience the feeling of bliss. They won’t be calling it “the brain’s own marijuana” for no reason, right?

SEROTONIN

The “happy neurotransmitters”

Serotonin affects our mood, social behavior, appetite, sexual desire, memory, and sleep. According to some scientists from the University of Montreal, meditation has a direct impact on the production of serotonin in the brain. Serotonin can also melt away stress and depression.

OXYTOCIN

The “love hormone.”

Oxytocin is a love neurotransmitter. It is produced by our hypothalamus. According to a social psychologist at Duke University, Patty Van Cappellen, “Oxytocin appears to be part of the way our bodies support spiritual beliefs.”

ENDORPHINS

Endorphins play an important role in our body’s ability to manage pain and experience pleasure.

This neurotransmitter triggers positive feelings in the body. When released in the body, endorphins can relieve pain, reduce stress, and can give the body a euphoric feeling. Endorphins can be produced during orgasm, exercise, excitement, pain, and meditation.

GABA

Gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a neurotransmitter inside your brain. Neurotransmitters act as chemical messengers. GABA is considered an inhibitory neurotransmitter because it inhabits, or blocks certain brain signals and decreases the activities in your nervous system.

When GABA attached to a protein called GABA receptor, a calming effect is produced. This can help control feelings such as stress, fear, and anxiety, and it can also help to prevent seizures.

DHEA

Dehydroepiandrosterone is naturally synthesized in the body and performs a number of roles. It helps produce other body hormones such as testosterone and estrogen.

GROWTH HORMONE

Growth Hormone has an effect on both growth and repair, plus a full mobilization. An imbalance of it will affect aging, increased body fat, weaken bones and muscles, change mood, fatigue, and it can affect the contractions of the heart. GH production gradually declines with age.

MELATONIN

In general, your body makes more melatonin at night. Poor melatonin production basically affects your sleep, immune system, and speeds up the aging process.

With consistent meditation, a 98% boost in melatonin, was found by the researchers from Rutgers University.

NITRIC OXIDE

Nitric oxides cause blood vessels to widen and relax and it also stimulates the release of certain hormones, insulin, and human growth hormone for instance.

Nitric oxide can also enhance blood flow in the body which causes the body to improve its performance in sports, enhances heart health, promotes healing, etc.

BYE BYE CORTISOL

With regular meditation, around 50% of cortisol levels were reduced, according to Rutgers University. Think of cortisol as your body’s alarm system, your body’s main stress hormone.

Anxiety, depression, headaches, heart disease, trouble sleeping, weight gain, memory and concentration problems, and problems with digestion are the possible health issues you can encounter if your alarm system goes havoc.

Do you know what to do to avoid this catastrophe to happen? Yes, MEDITATION.

SIMPLE TECHNIQUES

Doctor Zeidan’s meditation technique lets your attention to this simple focused practice that will allow you to let your emotions and thoughts pass without shifting attention or judgment.

FLOW MEDITATION

Over the last 20 years, Wilson Meloncelli has been training people of different ages. And in the last 5 years, he had found a giant leap in his clients’ performance by assimilating this specific meditation that not only triggers the 10 medication molecules but also the 6 powerful neurotransmitters and hormones that are triggered in the flow state experience.

Wilson Meloncelli teaches a very simple 3 step formula to trigger the flow state during meditation.

1. Breathing

2. Representational Systems

3. Feeling
